Field sales (vans)

A van is a point of sale with its own store and cash box, and a rep's day is its shift. Goods go on the van by a load: the rep asks, somebody else approves, and stock moves only when it is confirmed at the door. At night the goods left are counted, any difference is a stock adjustment, and the money is counted and handed over the way a till's is.

On the phone a rep sees today's route and every customer, and sells for cash or on account, collects, takes returns and orders, and prints the slip by Bluetooth, with or without signal. Everything is saved on the phone first and recorded once. A sale is never refused for stock or credit once the goods have left: it is recorded and flagged for a supervisor on the day's sheet. A customer with no credit limit is cash only on the phone. Today's board shows where each van is, its visits, sales and cash.

The goods decide who sells: goods of a brand held on the van go on an invoice in the brand's name, our goods on ours, and a mixed basket prints two papers. A brand's sale is never our revenue: it is owed to the brand, shown on the contract's Sales page, and a settlement bills our commission on an invoice to the brand and pays the rest.
