GOSI is charged on basic salary plus housing allowance, between 1,500 and 45,000 riyals a month. For a Saudi employee the employee pays 9.75% (9% pension, 0.75% unemployment insurance) and the employer 11.75% (the same plus 2% occupational hazards). For a non-Saudi the employee pays nothing and the employer pays 2%. Saudis first insured on or after 3 July 2024 pay a pension rate that rises half a point each July from 2025 until it reaches 11% each side in 2028.
